Premiere's XDS system latest code update 0.5.7 was the latest software update that included DST patches.
However, some stations discovered that programs recorded prior to the DST time change did not start playback as scheduled.
XDS has been investigating this problem all night and has found the issue.
Premiere will be sending an XDS software update 0.5.9 to the receivers and automatically load the software - planned for 2:31:30 PM Eastern time.
The new software loading requires automatically rebooting the receiver which will take the receiver off-line for about 90 seconds.
Live satellite programs will return automatically, and any recording programs will return to recording automatically - but the playback time will be short the approximately 90 seconds of rebooting time off-line.
This software update is necessary to insure that programs recorded prior to the DST change-over and awaiting scheduled playback - function correctly when the receiver starts the scheduled playback.
Note that XDS extensively tested the DST software so this recorded program playback issue was completely unexpected - but they have found the issue and we are taking all necessary steps to correct it immediately.
If you need further help, please call our NOC at (800) 276-4431 or you can email XDSHELP@Premiereradio.com if after talking to the NOC operators you need even further technical assistance.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
XDS has just provided an important software update that addresses a time-change bug and other items.
We are releasing this software today (it has been released to a few stations already for several days) and you should make sure your receiver automatically loads the software during it's reboot maintenance window.
If you do not have a reboot maintenance window set, please load the software manually by rebooting the receiver via the front panel or remotely from the myxdsreceiver.premiereradio.com site.
If there are any questions, please contact XDSHELP@Premiereradio.com or by phone at (818) 461-5176 during Pacific business hours, 7am - 5:30pm M-F.
Sun outages begin at the end of February and run through mid March.
Sun outage or sun fade is a naturally occurring phenomenon which affects all geostationary satellites.
Sun fade occurs when the sun, our satellite (AMC-8) and the earth are in alignment.
The sun, a stronger source of radio frequency energy than our satellite, overpowers our signal for anywhere from a few seconds to a maximum of thirty minutes.
As an affiliate it is necessary to prepare for this outage in advance.
Sun fade WILL cause a temporary loss of audio on your XDS receivers. The start/end dates as well as the length and intensity of the sun outage will vary by geographical location, and size of your dish. Times also vary by location.
You can get specific times and dates for your location by going to the link below, pulling down Tools and clicking on the Sun Outage Calculator
http://www.ses-worldskies.com/worldskies/support/sun_outage_tool/index.php
Once you have the Sun Outage Calculator open, select AMC-8, your territory and the city closest to your location. Be aware that SES-Americom has changed their name to ses-worldskies and has changed their website .
While the link was accurate at the time of this writing it too could change at anytime.
Please share this info with your programming and engineering departments so that they may plan ahead.
Thank you
If you have a fast blinking update light DURING "DOWN TIME" you are required to soft reboot your receiver from the front panel (Details in XDS Documents/XDS Manual and Documentation) -
Or if you have previously set up a maintenance window you may rely on your preprogrammed maintenance period.

Premiere is using RSS "Really Simple Syndication" to publish critical information concerning Premiere programming. These feeds will contain information including technical logs from the NOC, relay logs from the previous day and bulletins with up to the minute changes in programing, special feeds, and information about events that will affect your broadcasts.
To subscribe to these feeds simply click one of the RSS links:
Or if you prefer: below are the direct links for each feed.
We recomend using myYahoo to monitor these RSS feeds as we have observed rather lengthy delays with iGoogle.
The Premiere XDS PRO4-P receiver can record live programs and delay the playback as scheduled by you, the affiliate. However, the recorded programs will remain in the XDS receiver for a limited amount of time. The files will be deleted to insure the receiver has ample storage for future recordings. These are global settings for all stations. If you need to delay a program longer than than allowed, you may wish to use an external recording device.
